Special measurements

Measure what hasactually been built.

3D laser scanning of factories, geometry of silos, tanks, buildings, conveyors, steel structures and piping – with 3D models as the basis for planning, modification and installation. Plus stopping-time measurement on electro-sensitive protective equipment (ESPE).

01Applications

What we survey

Wherever planning has to rely on accurate as-built dimensions.

01

Factories & halls

Terrestrial 3D laser scanning of entire production areas – as a digital as-built record.

02

Silos & tanks

Geometry of silos and tanks for modification, discharge and new connections.

03

Buildings & steel structures

Structures, platforms and hall frames as a 3D model.

04

Conveyor systems

Routes, transfer points and heights of existing conveying technology.

05

Piping

Routes and connection points – for collision-free planning.

06

Stopping time on ESPE

Measuring stopping time and stopping distance – the basis for the correct safety distance.

02Process

From scan to planning

  1. 01

    On-site capture

We capture the plant with a terrestrial laser scanner – in the existing facility, worldwide.

  2. 02

    Point cloud

The individual scans are merged into a point cloud of the entire surroundings.

  3. 03

    3D model

The point cloud is turned into a 3D model of the relevant components and structures.

  4. 04

    Planning

Layout, modification and installation are planned on the basis of the real geometry.

03Results

What you receive

  • Point cloud of the captured areas
  • 3D model of buildings, silos, steel structures, conveyors and piping
  • Dimensions and geometry as a basis for layout and modification
  • Measurement report of the stopping-time measurement on ESPE

We agree scope and data formats with you for each project.

Fewer surprises

Planning based on real geometry instead of outdated drawings.

Better-prepared installation

Modifications are planned to fit beforehand – less improvisation on site.

Stopping-time measurement

Verify the safety distance

Light curtains, light grids and other ESPE must be far enough from the danger zone for the machine to stop in time. We measure the stopping time or stopping distance and document the result – one building block of your CE documentation.

Safety distance = f(stopping time, approach speed, resolution)
