What it does.

Edging turns side boards into saleable timber: the wane is removed, widths are optimised and – depending on the system – boards are re-trimmed straight away. Because side boards can account for a considerable share of the value, edging technology noticeably affects the mill's yield.

02Does a new edger pay off?

Side boards can make up a noticeable share of revenue. Whether a new edger pays off depends on your assortment and volumes – we assess that together.

03What happens to the edgings?

They are removed and usually chipped. We plan the conveying and shredding of the residues as well.
