01What does a profiling chipper do?
It chips the outer contour of the cant so that the side boards already have a clean edge after sawing. This saves a separate edging step and also yields chips.
02What do PF 19, DWK and VNK mean?
These are names of units from our partner EWD: the PF 19 profiling chipper and the DWK and VNK pre- and post-cutting circular saws. Which units belong in your line is decided in planning.
03Circular saw or band saw for re-sawing?
Circular saws achieve high feed rates and accurate patterns; band saws cut with a narrower kerf and greater cutting height. The choice depends on cant dimensions, capacity and yield target.
