Wood & sawmill technology
Log handling
Short and long log transport, single-log infeed and sorting: the log yard as the pacemaker of the whole sawmill.
Partner M-TEC
01Performance
What it does.
Receiving & singulating
Cross conveyors and singulators move logs from the deck into the line in a controlled way.
Measuring & sorting
By diameter, length or quality into sorting bunks – as the basis for optimised breakdown.
Infeed at the right pace
Single-log infeed keeps the saw evenly loaded.
Short and long logs
Handling for both assortments, also combined in one yard.
Auxiliary units integrated
Debarking, butt reducing and metal detection at the right point in the line.

04Engineering
Machine types & parameters.
Typical machine types
- 01
Chain cross conveyors
Buffer and move logs crosswise.
- 02
Log singulators
Take exactly one log from the buffer and pass it to longitudinal conveying.
- 03
Longitudinal conveyors & log sorting lines
Carry logs through scanning and debarking and eject them into sorting bunks.
- 04
Butt reducers & debarkers
Prepare the log for clean, tool-friendly breakdown.

Since 2004
Technology for the wood industry, conveyor and machine building and engineering – for new plants and modernisations.
The machine technology typically comes from M-TEC. Vecotrade plans the plant, integrates the machines into your material flow, installs, commissions and remains your point of contact.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
01Can an existing log yard be modernised?
Yes. Often individual sections – such as singulation or sorting – are renewed while the rest of the operation continues. We plan such steps to keep downtime as short as possible.
02Which partner do you work with here?
For log, sawn timber and glulam handling we typically integrate technology from our partner M-TEC in Martin, Slovakia – complemented by other suppliers where the project requires it.
03Where does planning start?
With your timber: lengths, diameters, species and volumes – and the space available. A first layout emerges from that.
